Mark Maybell

Mark Maybell joined Colonnade Advisors as a Managing Director in 2010. Mark has held leadership roles in investment banking and venture capital for the past 25 years. He was the founding managing partner in 2001 of Ericsson Venture Partners, the exclusive venture capital and growth equity vehicle for L. M. Ericsson for Europe and North America, backed by Merrill Lynch and Ericsson, as well as the successor fund, Eastven.

Mark was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Department of Merrill Lynch where he managed businesses with $2 billion in revenue, of which $1.25 billion were the telecom and media businesses built from start-up stage. He managed most of the high growth global businesses including telecom, media, technology, leveraged finance, financial sponsors, and private equity fundraising.

Mark was a member of the Executive Committee of Merrill Lynch’s Investment Banking Department from 1995-2001 and was a member of Merrill Lynch’s Capital Commitment Committees for Debt and Equity.

Over the course of his career, he has had contact with over 1,000 companies in the technology, telecom and media industries in over 20 countries in a broad range of advisory, financing and merger and acquisition and venture capital transactions.

He served as a member of the board of directors of Vallent Corporation (sold to IBM) and RadioFrame Networks (sold to Motorola).

Mark holds an MBA in Taxation and Accounting from Indiana University School of Business and an AB in Finance and Economics from the University of Illinois. He is a CPA and holds the Series 7 and 63 securities licenses.
